Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are awarded for their film “The Banshes of Inisherin” at the Golden Globes.

“The Banshees of Inisherin” was an amazing movie that deserved to win an award at the Golden Globes. Surprisingly, it won three, one award for Best Musical/Comedy, another for Best Actor in Musical/Comedy, and lastly for Best Screenplay.

The sweeping landscapes of Inisherin put both the tranquil and haunting solitude ambiance of Inisherin in the audience’s minds. Don’t be fooled by the name of the movie’s winning category. Comedy/Musical is anything but what you may think it means. Many of the movies featured in that categorie can be seen as dramas with a smaller dose of comedy. “The Banshees of Inisherin” had some very real competition, with the most notable being “Babylon,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.” Even when stacked up against all of these movies that audiences loved, “The Banshees of Inisherin” deserved the win, 100 times over.

Colin farrell won Best Actor in Musical/Comedy because he did a fantastic job showing the multi-faceted character of Pádraic Súilleabháin. Pádraic was a wonderfully written character who felt incredibly real. His struggle throughout the movie is believable and easy to be sympathetic to.

In the contest for winning Best Screenplay, “Tár” or “The Fabelmans” brought tough competition. This movie absolutely deserves the win for Best Screenplay because of how it kept its story simple, easy to follow, yet innovative, subversive and profound.
