Cheryl Budd, New Testing Coordinator

After 13 years in the Early Childhood classroom, Cheryl Budd became a Testing Coordinator. She has worked in education her whole life, filling several different roles over the years. Budd decided she wanted to transition to the role of Testing Coordinator because she was “just ready to try something new.”
Aspects of the position include multiple responsibilities, organization and communication. “I enjoy having to work with so many different staff and students. I am building new relationships with different co-workers,” said Budd.
Budd misses “the close bonds that you make with students” in teaching Early Childhood and Child Development classes. “In the program, if a student completes the entire sequence at FHS they could have had me as a teacher for five terms, that is a lot of time together,” said Budd.
For other teachers transitioning, Budd said, “It is okay to try new things; it is okay to make mistakes because I am surely going to make a few along the way, but that is how we grow. You are never too old to learn new things because I have been learning a lot over the last month.”
