Dan Sirignano

Shakespeare enthusiast Dan Sirignano joins FHS’s English department after teaching at Northern Virginia Community College. Sirignano’s goal has always been to “get people excited about reading and writing.”
Sirignano’s passion for literature started with an English teacher: Andy Hawk. “At the time I had no interest in English,” Sirignano said. “He really got me excited about it and he was just a laid back, cool, really awesome guy.” Sirignano is inspired by how “one person can impact another person that dramatically.” He said, “That’s definitely one of the reasons why I want to teach.”
In his free time, Sirignano is very interested in fitness, cooking and theater, specifically Shakespeare. “I could talk about Shakespeare all the time!” Sirignano explains that he’s very passionate about what he does: “I am a bit of a perfectionist in a way. I really want to make sure that I maximize my classes to the best of my ability so that every single one of my students walks away with something,” said Sirignano. “To me, that’s a win.”
