Brandy Moss is a new staff member here at FHS and teaches in the ID department, and she is ready to start teaching and spread her kindness and generosity. Moss has been teaching for 15 years. In the beginning of her teaching career she taught preschools in Fairfax county, and then she became the Executive Director at Matthew Center, where she taught kids who have special needs and other disabilities. “I went to community college, then went to Gardner Webb University in North Carolina, because they had a night program [for] four year undergrad, then I went and did Liberty online for both of my masters.” said Moss.
Moss enjoys the book A Child Called It, written by Dave Pelzer, and really likes watching the show “Yellowstone”. Her two favorite colors are Tennessee orange and white. Moss enjoys cleaning in her free time and is a mom to four children. Moss says that she sometimes enjoys what she teaches. Moss said, “Some days it’s a challenge because not everyone understands the difficulties that the students have, not just in school but also at home.” Moss became a teacher because of her daughter’s dad. Then, after a while, she started to like it.
Moss originally had an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, but she then switched over to teaching at-risk children. Moss then obtained her internship for teaching at Matthew Center where the kids have severe behavior problems and are lower on the spectrum.
Moss enjoys teaching and is ready to start her first year here at FHS. Her kindness and hard-working attitude will be a great addition to the school.
