Erika Lamper is back in the cube for Sports Marketing as she begins her 10th year teaching. Lamper took last year off teaching at FHS to care for her 3 kids, who are 1, 3 and 4 years old, and her 1 year old French Bulldog. Lamper describes her household as “fun [and] hectic” and now that her kids are a little older, she is ready to get back into teaching.

Lamper loves the city of Pittsburgh and is a huge Pittsburgh sports fan. Lamper said, “I love going to Pittsburgh, it’s always a lot of fun… you can kayak, watch baseball, watch football [bike on lots of trails]… and usually it’s not as hot as Virginia.” She enjoys watching the Steelers, Pirates and the Penguins, and her passion for sports is the main reason why she teaches sports marketing.

When asked why she teaches, Lamper said, “I love helping the students and the best part about our job is watching them come back after they graduate and tell us about all the wonderful things they’re doing in life.” Lamper cares for her students and likes watching them learn and grow throughout the school year. She also wants to be someone students can always talk to about anything going on in their lives. Lamper is always looking for ways to help her students thrive at FHS.

Lamper also coaches for the softball team she once played for, here at FHS. “I played here, at Fauquier, under Coach Ott, and I graduated in ‘05 and I played at Seton Hill University…in Pennsylvania,” said Lamper. She is excited for the upcoming softball season in the spring.

Hi, I’m Reese and I’m a senior this year at Fauquier. This is my first year taking journalism and I’m excited to write for the Falconer! I am a part of the cross country and track and field team as I enjoy running and competing. Montana is my favorite place to be as I enjoy the scenery and hiking there. Every weekend I will be watching college football and the NFL.
