Jennifer Lowenbach is a new face here at FHS and she is full of smiles. You can find Lowenbach in the counseling office, helping with transcripts and scholarships. Lowenbach has been part of the Fauquier school system for a long while. Lowenbach said “I’ve been an instructional assistant for 5 years, all at Warrenton Middle School, which is now Taylor Middle School.”
“These days have felt eternal because my children are in school sports,” Lowenbach said with a bright smile, “I enjoy seeing them thrive in sports and enjoy.” She loves seeing her kids play in her freetime. She also says that during her free time she loves reading. Her current read is For Those Who are Lost by Julia Thomas, and her favorite genre is historical fiction.
Though Lowenbach loves to read, she does not plan on going back to school. She also said she doesn’t plan on studying or seeking another profession in school. “No, I don’t want to grade papers or come up with lesson plans and talk to parents,” said Lowenbach. She also stated how she wouldn’t want to be a principal, saying, “It’s a lot of responsibility.”
Though she isn’t an instructional assistant anymore, when she works with students her biggest pet peeve is a “liar.” “Also, I don’t like clicking pens. It drives me crazy,” Lowenbach said. She does not let the small stuff bother her, saying, “chewing gum and things like that don’t really bother me.”
If Lowenbach could have any restaurant serve food in the cafeteria, she would choose Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Her go-to order is steak, baked potatoes with green beans and lemonade.
From a parent perspective, Lowenbach said, “I like the school system. I feel like there’s always room for improvement.” She enjoys her time working and seeing her kids grow up. She says it’s “fantastic because I’ve been with them since elementary school working by their side.” Her daughter, Lauren Lowenbach, plays on the Varsity FHS Field Hockey team. Lowenbach said, “My daughter enjoys her sport and interacting with her teammates as much as I [love] watching her play the sport she loves.”
