Sophomore, Kayla Dankwa is the Fauquier Falcon’s December Artist of the Month. Art has been a part of Danka’s life since she was little. “I took an art class when I was younger, and they told me I wasn’t good enough which made me stop drawing for a while. As I got older, I never had an outlet to escape my problems. I started drawing again, and I have been ever since,” said Dankwa.
Despite not being enrolled in an art class, Dankwa has built up a reputable persona with her art. She is the current president of the FHS National Art Honor Society and pursues her creativity outside of the classroom by selling self-designed T-shirts.
Dankwa finds inspiration for her art in all things. “The music I listen to inspires a lot of my art. Certain people also give me inspiration as well,” said Dankwa.
