As a resident of Warrenton, Virginia, there’s not much new that opens up in this small town. Of course, Warrenton has its staples: Carousel, Denim and Pearls, Great Harvest. All are very tasty local businesses, but there is a new contender entering the ring: Cast Iron Craft House. Recently opened in April of this year, Cast Iron is already at a rightfully earned 4.6 star rating on Google Reviews. This new restaurant is booming with popularity, with reviews complimenting their fast service and kind staff, wide variety of drinks and yummy selection of entrees.
Xander Garcia, a student staff member working as a barback at the restaurant, encourages high school students to stop by and try some of their delicious food. “My friends and I always have fun when we work together,” said Garcia, “They always have my back and help me out whenever I need.”
A communicative and respectful group of employees helps create a successful work environment, but not everything has to be all business. Shared memories during a closing shift or help from another coworker in a stressful situation are what truly makes a job unforgettable.
Starting a new business can be very time consuming, but Cast Iron’s owners were up for the challenge. Starting construction back in April 2019, Wesley Ross and his friend, Alex Lepro, established themselves as business partners. “We met in Norfolk Virginia through close friends and thought we might as well share risk as well as reward [when they opened up their new restaurant],” said Ross. Cast Iron’s location is right off Main Street, with reviews naming it a hidden gem of Warrenton. Ross says, “We just got awarded Warrenton Best Burger and Best New Business which was a big accomplishment for us.”
Cast Iron’s authentic, locally sourced food and mix of fresh cocktails make it a prime spot to visit when in Old Town Warrenton.
