The Falcon Café is Celebrating National Nutrition Month
This year the FHS Falcon Café is offering students a chance to win a Bluetooth speaker, throughout this month, in honor of National Nutrition Month. Each student will receive a card to enter the drawing up to three times per day, entering the grab-and-go line, breakfast line and lunch line. Each card must include the student’s first and last name and answer the question on the back. There will be a prize for both AA and BB day kids.
The month of March is used as a campaign to educate about nutrition and “focuses on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.” (www.eatright.org) The Eat Right Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics initiated this awareness message in 1973 as a week-long celebration. It was “a way to deliver nutrition education messages to the public while promoting the profession of dietetics.” (www.eatright.org) In 1980, as public interest grew, they expanded the campaign to last an entire month.
