David Dewald:

Q: How long have you been wrestling?

A: 10 years.

Q: Why did you decide to start wrestling?

A: My dad wrestled, and we were at the age where we were going through sports and that was one of the sports we did.  We really stuck with it.

Q: What do you enjoy most about wrestling?

A: Definitely the team aspect. Even though it’s an individual sport, the team is just like a family to me. We’re all great friends.

Q: How would you describe the team?

A: Family. We all know each other and we get along really well.

Q: Who’s your biggest role model within the sport?

A: As in wrestling ability, definitely Sam [Fisher]. He’s honestly the best. My dad also kind of set the standard for us since he wrestled at Navy, and so I want to be like him and be good.

Q: Do you plan on going D1 or playing at college?

A: I have not committed anywhere for wrestling, but I’ll definitely try to play in college.

Makayla Foddrell:

Q: How long have you been playing basketball?

A: For about five or six years.

Q: Why did you decide to play basketball?

A: It was just something I took interest in when I was little. I just picked up the ball and started playing.

Q: What do you enjoy most about basketball?

A: The team, being around people and having friendships. I really like the love of it all.

Q: How would you describe the team?

A: Everyone has a different type of personality, goofy and fun. Everyone is bright in their own way.

Q: Who’s your biggest role model within the sport?

A: I don’t really have one, but my dad used to play back in the day, so I look up to him in a way. He’s always giving me advice.

Q: What’s your biggest goal at the moment?

A: It’s just to keep working hard and stay consistent with working out.

Q: Do you plan on going D1 or playing at college?

A: Yes, I do plan on playing at college. It just takes a lot of work and a lot of talent.
