As the season inches closer, fall celebrations are about to begin. As a result, events across Northern Virginia have started to pop up for fall and Halloween. While Halloween festivities like trick-or-treating are often associated with children, there are still plenty of events that will appeal to teenagers and adults. This October is the perfect time to get into the fall spirit and join in on the celebration.
On the spooky side of things, Haunted Hollows is a local haunted house attraction in Fauquier County. Throughout October, Haunted Hollows will be open every Friday and Saturday with tickets priced at $25. They offer a chilling experience for those who choose to encounter the horrors the attraction has to offer. It’s seen fondly by locals for the immersive atmosphere brought by its terrifying decor and talented actors. Alongside the haunted house, they host a couple of food trucks outside. It’s the perfect place to go with friends for a Halloween-centered experience.
For a more family-oriented event, Cox Farms, located in Centreville, will be having a fall festival. The festival is currently happening and will end on Nov. 5. The tickets are priced according to how busy they’ll be, ranging from $10 to $25 depending on the day. The festival’s website lists countless attractions, mostly hayrides and plenty of playgrounds and slides. They’ll also sell fresh food and farm products.
The Rocktober Benefit Concert is a charity event alongside its fall festivities. It’s being run by Cancer Can Rock, an organization that raises funds for musicians suffering from cancer. It’s being held in Fairfax County, with Earp’s Ordinary LLC as the venue. It starts at 1 p.m. and goes on until 10 p.m. They’ll have eight artists performing over the course of the evening, with a large variety of both original and cover songs. Food and drinks will also be sold at the venue, as the event is being held inside a bar. The tickets are $25 per person and are worth it to those invested in the local music scene.
There are plenty of ways to spend time this fall from hayrides to haunted houses. Many opportunities are available across Northern Va. and taking advantage of these great experiences is a wonderful idea.
