Flowers on the trees in the courtyard of FHS start to bloom as the warm weather rolls into Virginia.

The spring season is quickly approaching. With the weather getting warmer and the sun starting to shine more often, many are very excited to get to start doing activities outside.

The spring season has fun activities to offer that many couldn’t do in the winter season. Freshman Emily Galvez said, “[Spring] is a good season because it’s not that hot, so it allows you to do sports and activities outside without being overheated.” Galvez also shares how she is excited to be able to go to the pool soon. One of the things that people most look forward to when it comes to spring are the blooming flowers. Senior Isabella Barahona states that “the flowers coming out is my favorite part of the spring season.”

While many are ready for the nicer weather to start coming around, Barahona shares that she sees the spring as more of a depressing season. With new beginnings, it may be hard for some to start to let go of the past. However, with nicer weather and the ability to go outside more, many share the feeling that it’s really nice to go out and just walk with your friends. Galvez agrees that going out is one of the best things of the season. Junior Gwen Zappola states that, while spring isn’t her favorite season, “it’s a very underrated time of year,” as summer often overshadows it.

Barahona and Galvez both share the opinion that now that spring has come, they are both happy to go out and play sports during the day, as are many others with the spring sports seasons starting up. Many students are very excited for the wonderful weather of the wonderful season of spring.
