2020 Election: Three Ways to Vote in Virginia
To Register to Vote:
*All voters must be registered at least 21 days before the General Election.
Visit the Virginia Voter Information website.
Choose the “Register to Vote” option.
Complete the application.
Paperwork is submitted directly to the Fauquier Voter Registrar’s Office.

Request an application.
A voter registration application will be mailed.
Complete the application and mail it back using the same forwarding address.
Voting Options –
Option 1: Absentee Ballot by Mail:
All Fauquier County registered voters have been mailed a “Virginia Vote by Mail Application Form”.
Complete the ballot.
Mail back it in the provided, pre-addressed, postage-paid envelope.
Or drop off the ballot at the Fauquier County Voter Registrar Office.

Or fax the ballot in person to the Registrar Office.

Or voters may also apply at the Virginia Department of Elections website.
Select the “Apply to Vote Absentee by Mail” option.
Complete the form and then submit it.
Or voters can request a ballot at the Registrar Office and take it home to fill it out.

The completed absentee ballot must be received by the Registrar’s Office no later than 5 p.m. by October 22.
Option 2: Early In-Person Absentee Voting
Any registered voter can vote in-person at any of the early voting locations:

Option 3: Vote at Polling Place on Election Day
All Virginia polling locations will be open as normal on Election Day, November 3, from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
