Talk of the Mountain Seafood has parked its food truck and opened a store. The new restaurant is located at 19 Culpeper Street, Warrenton, Va. It has gained a considerable reputation for its delicious crab cakes and hush puppies. The restaurant serves a variety of fresh seafood and sides, ranging from flavorful fish to creamy mac and cheese.
Bryant Green opened Talk of the Mountain in Old Town Warrenton as a part of his ever-growing journey. Green’s daughter, Bria Green, who has been working at Talk of the Mountain since 2021, described her dad’s journey with the business, stating, “He started on the side of the road in Markham, then eventually he moved to the Liberty gas station in Front Royal and then we had our next location on Main Street, Front Royal.” Bryant Green’s culinary career is described by Northern Virginia Daily, which quoted him saying, “We needed money, growing up in the hood. So we had a rent party and made a bunch of food,” he said with a smile. “We had more than enough to pay the rent, and I learned how to cook.”
Talk of the Mountain has an open atmosphere and kitchen, allowing customers to see what goes into making their meals. Bria Green explained, “My dad started cooking food for people and you know they really liked it and wanted other people to try it so we decided to start the pop-up locations.” Those pop-up locations quickly grew, leading to their two permanent locations and food truck.
Many people are unaware of Talk of the Mountains’ new location. Seafood enthusiast and English teacher Jennifer Major says, “They have an excellent reputation. My parents have been there many times, and I heard they have really good catfish and really good food.” Talk of the Mountain is not very expensive for seafood. Many seafood lovers and foodies love Talk of the Mountain’s food. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and with its growing reputation and new locations, Talk of the Mountain is the newest hidden gem in Old Town Warrenton.
