Falcons for Change interest meeting encourages students to help their community.

FHS offers a wide array of clubs to encourage students to get involved with the school as well as to try new things. Students that enjoy giving back to the community should consider joining Falcons for Change. Falcons for Change, or otherwise known as F4C, is a student-led club that focuses on educating the FHS community on social matters as well as equality issues.

Senior Audrey Navin has been an active member in this club since her freshman year. Her original plan when joining the club was to socialize during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as raise awareness for the Asian American Pacific Islander community. Since joining in Navin’s freshman year, she has now earned herself the title of vice president. In doing so, she is in charge of turning ideas into reality. “I heard about Falcons for Change and thought it was a great way to give back to the community. What I didn’t expect was to gain as many friends as I did while participating in helpful activities.” said Navid

F4C has done an immense amount of community volunteering, including a feminine product drive for those who may not have the income to afford the necessary products, helping out at voting booths and heritage month announcements at FHS. Other than announcements, the members of Falcons for Change participate in marches as well as create fundraisers in the spirit of other world issues at hand.

This year, F4C is focusing on helping students understand that staying educated is the best way to be involved in world news while simultaneously raising awareness for minority communities. Co-presidents Kevin Sandoval and Jimena Morote advocate for students to reach out and ask questions about their opportunities to get involved and how to join their community based club. “Being a part of Falcons for Change has made me feel like I am an active member in the FHS community,” said Sandoval, “I participate in this club not for any credit, I just simply enjoy helping others.”
