Fauquier High School (FHS) is excited for Valentine’s Day and to spread the love, so the FHS clubs decided to celebrate. From chocolate-covered strawberries to writing French Valentine’s Day cards, the clubs work to bring Valentine’s Day spirit to the whole school. These activities help everyone spread the holiday spirit and keep students and staff engaged at school. The clubs make Valentine’s Day not only a holiday, but an amazing experience that brings everyone together. The school community’s celebration also helps students feel more connected, creating opportunities for everyone to come together and build friendships.
The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club got together to make chocolate-covered strawberries to sell, with the intention of supporting heart health awareness month. Culinary teacher Rebecca Cook and the FCCLA members are eager to sell something appealing but also healthy for the heart. Even though the constant snow days put starting the activity on hold, the FCCLA members still pushed through and did an amazing job. They have made promotional flyers and social media posts with information about payment and shipping. This was so beneficial, as they not only raised awareness of such an important cause but also reminded students to spread positivity and love.
On Feb. 10th, the French club got together to write Valentine’s cards in French. President of the French Club, senior Lincoln Pauling, stated that the club decided to write loving cards “to uplift people and give people hope that there is still love in this world.” This motivational and supportive message embodies what the French Club represents, a good reminder for all to hear.
Valentine’s Day at FHS is more than just a holiday. Through all their efforts, the FHS clubs effectively fill the school with kindness and encouragement. Valentine’s Day at FHS is a beautiful way to remind people that every little act of kindness matters and makes a difference.
