Fauquier High School’s (FHS) 2025 spirit week brought excitement, creativity and school pride to the halls from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4, 2025. Each day had a fun theme, with students showing off their energy and class pride in the lead-up to homecoming weekend.
The week started with “’Merica Monday,” and while many students showed off their spirit through the designated themes, there was also a notable display of patriotism, as students wore red, white and blue. “Meme Day” followed, with students turning their favorite internet jokes into creative outfits. On “Generation Day”, freshmen dressed as babies, sophomores as college kids, juniors as soccer moms/BBQ dads and seniors as senior citizens. Thursday’s “Country vs. Country Club” was one of the biggest hits, allowing students to choose between cowboy boots and polos paired with skirts. The week wrapped up with “Class Color Friday,” where freshmen wore gray, sophomores black, juniors white and seniors red.
Junior Irene Chen said her favorite day was Country vs. Country Club. “It was really fun to see everyone’s take on both of the themes, and it’s just a classic theme for spirit week,” Chen said.
She added that she was also excited for Meme Day, calling it “really unique.” As an upperclassman, Chen puts more effort into spirit week now. “Since I’m a junior, I try to put in quite a bit of effort if I can, but not as much as the seniors,” she commented. “It’s a week full of something to look forward to…we all know either homecoming or prom is coming soon…I love seeing the decorated hallways when I walk into the school.”
Junior and Student Council Association (SCA) officer Aubrey Cupka said spirit week helps bring students together. “Spirit week ties into homecoming because through school spirit, it gets people more involved, excited for the dance, and more excited to take pride in their school.”
Cupka also mentioned a new addition this year, the Powderpuff game after the homecoming parade, saying students are more excited for that. “Students can get more involved by dressing up more, participating in pep rally games, and playing the Powderpuff game to win for their grade,” Cupka added. Fauquier’s Spirit Week once again proved that when students come together, school spirit is at its strongest.
