FHS performed Little Shop of Horrors, which premiered on May 5, 2023. The main cast selected had much talent and enough energy to perform five times.
Many cast members were very happy about the parts they worked for. “Yeah, it’s what I auditioned for, it’s what I really wanted in the first place,” sophomore Annie Gentry said. “…I’m very happy, I’m really excited, the cast looks really great, and I think it will be very fun,” senior Jake Miller said.
Q: What was it like being a part of Little Shop of Horrors?
A: “ It was wonderful working on LSOH. It was one of the best parts of my Sophomore year. The people were great,” said junior Nicole Squitieri, the stage manager.
“Being a part of Little Shop was such a wonderful experience! I had a great time getting to know my cast members and making new friends as well as learning new singing and acting techniques,” said senior Grace Jones, who played the part of Audrey.
“LSOH was definitely interesting. With Mr. Bales leaving, it was crazy. I was part of the crew in this show but being part of backstage for the first time with the crew was an amazing experience. I was incredibly nervous about show day,” said sophomore Abigail Branam, curtain director.
Q: What was your favorite part of Little Shop of Horrors?
A: “My favorite thing about Little Shop of Horrors was the people I met and the friends I made,” said Squitieri.
“My favorite part about Little Shop was getting to perform some of my favorite musical theater songs with my best friend Jake Miller. We were the leads and I’m so grateful that I got to experience that show with him. He is so incredibly talented and such an amazing person. Another favorite part of Little Shop was the amazing cast, crew, and directors. They were truly fabulous people to work with and I would love to work with them again,” said Jones.
“My most favorite thing about Little Shop was the people, everybody was so kind and consistent. Everyone was incredibly nice and friendly to one another and was incredibly open for tips on getting Little Shop a little better,” said Branam.
Overall, the cast and crew had an amazing time performing and helping out on stage. From making new friends and hanging out with current ones, the cast and crew made an experience to remember.
