As the Halloween season rolls around, spooky activities and decorations are kicking in full swing. Popular traditions include going to pumpkin patches, doing ghost tours and visiting haunted attractions. A frightening thriller to attend is Buckland Haunted Farms in Warrenton.
Buckland Haunted Farm includes a Market, allowing visitors to enjoy treats and live music, before going around back to the haunted trail featuring abandoned buses, blood thirsty clowns and other spooky surprises. But that's not all, if the haunted trail wasn't scary enough, there is also an inflatable maze that sends individuals into the pitch black as they maneuver through corners and dead ends.
The students here at Fauquier High School (FHS) love to do activities during the Halloween season, especially haunted trails. Most students won't go trick-or-treating because they are too old. Pierce Ross, who is in 10th grade, went to Buckland haunted farms with his friends. The scariest part of the trail, Ross said, was “not knowing when the people are going to come scare you.” Ross added, “Living in fear, walking through the entire maze, not knowing when they're going to come out and terrify you.”
Brooke Shifflett, who is a senior here at FHS, went with her friends who also go to the school. She said the scariest part was “When it was pitch black and you had no clue where you were going. She added, “You had to touch your hand on the wall to make sure you know where you're going so you don't run into anything.” Before they went on the trail they went inside to the market, got ice cream and listened to music.
Buckland Haunted Farm and Market is a great attraction to do over the Halloween season. One can shop, enjoy ice cream, listen to live music and of course, take a walk on the haunted trail that will leave one terrified.
