Haute Cakes has been a staple of Old Town Warrenton’s small-business economy since 2018, when the first physical shop opened. For as long as it has been established, the bakery has brought joy to the residents of Warrenton with its myriad of sweet treats, and now, a cafe!
Since childhood, Megan Santiestevan has “dreamt of owning [her] own shop.” The business owner’s dreams came true when she opened her first physical storefront on a side road off of Main Street. Santiestevan “fell in love with [the space],” and officially began the endeavor of owning a business.
Santiestevan “first got the idea to have a dessert and wine bar when she was 19 years old,” and when the opportunity was presented to her, she decided to “take the risk.” The cafe’s menu was designed “very intentionally,” including tiramisu in a martini glass and “croffles.” A “croffle” is Haute Cakes’ unique hybrid of a croissant and a waffle. These unique treats come in a wide variety of flavors and toppings, including both savory and sweet options.
After hours, Haute Cakes plans to host a diverse array of events. Trivia nights, Bouquet Bars and Paint and Sip nights are just some examples of the community-centered experiences the cafe plans on arranging in the near future.
