Falcons dominate Culpeper, secure first win of season
On Thursday night the Falcons traveled to Culpeper High School, looking to bounce back from a loss against Western Albemarle to open the season. The boys did exactly that, defeating the Blue Devils by the score of 90-58. It is very clear the team made the right adjustments after losing their first game of the season. The Falcons were playing with something to prove.
“We played together and brought energy right from when we got off the bus and listened to coach, then executed,” said Luke Harris.
Falcons new head coach, William Hatchett picked up his first regular season win. The Falcons established an early lead and never looked back, extending the lead as the game went on. The scoring was led by senior guard Harris who poured in 25 points.
“It feels great to get our first win after a summer of great work,” said Harris.
Other key contributors were juniors Rey Ruiz, who had 22 points, and Dylan Donner, who finished with 16. This win moves the team to 1-1. Next, the team faces off against Western Albemarle on the road on Friday, December 3.
