Warrenton’s old town is a beloved place for Fauquier High School’s students, staff and families alike to relax and share quality time. While the town is committed to preserving its historic image, the opportunities and experiences it provides are ever-changing. Recently, multiple familiar spots have undergone exciting renovations and brand new businesses have begun the process of moving in.
Goodness and Grace, an extremely popular coffee shop located right off Main Street, expanded its interior to better accommodate their many customers. The cafe has been in business for over two years and is often packed full of eager customers. The expansion, which opened Feb. 6, 2026, allows Goodness and Grace to keep intact its warm and lively atmosphere while making it less crowded and overwhelming.
Another one of students’ favorite spots to get a sweet treat, Haute Cakes bakery, is about to start the expansion process as well. Haute Cakes is soon taking over the Main Street storefront previously occupied by Studio Luxe boutique. While the closing of Studio Luxe is extremely saddening for many, it opens the door for a new and exciting era of the bakery. In just a few months, Haute Cakes will inhabit both building suites.
The expansions of both Goodness and Grace and Haute Cakes allow local shoppers to enjoy their favorite spots even more. Thriving small businesses such as these represent a large part of Warrenton's charming small town culture, which is important to keep intact.
Just outside of the Main Street area, the fast-casual chain Nash & Smashed is soon to open its doors in the Warrenton Village Center. The restaurant features a variety of items, as it specializes in both Nashville hot chicken and smash burgers.
The chain itself started in Manassas, Virginia and is quickly expanding across the DMV region. So far, there are around 10 operating locations, with the Warrenton one soon to add to that list. Nash & Smashed is said to open for business at some point during the month of March, and although the exact date is unclear, many community members are eagerly awaiting its arrival.
New additions, like Nash & Smashed, are perfect examples of the evolving nature of the town, allowing it to grow yet stay true to its roots. While shifting familiar landscapes can be jarring, these new beginnings ultimately represent small steps forward, towards an even brighter future.
