The SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards are a prestigious, well-celebrated ceremony that happens every year. It celebrates actors in certain movies and television shows, as well as radio artists and musicians, with over 170,000 actors and artists participating in the program. The SAG-AFTRA labor union was formed in 2012 and continues to grow every year. This year, SAG-AFTRA hosted its annual award ceremony and honored many people for their work in the industry.
Many of the awards were given to people who are very iconic within their roles. This included Michael B. Jordan, who won an acting award for his massive leading role in “Sinners”, as well as a heavy emotional speech from Harrison Ford when he won one of the most significant awards presented by SAG-AFTRA, which was the Life Achievement Award.
The Life Achievement Award is a high honor given by SAG-AFTRA to actors who have achieved outstanding career accomplishments and contributed to society, such as donating to charity or starting a project. It’s considered a great honor to receive the Life Achievement Award at The SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards.
Many other awards were given at the SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards, including Female Actor in a Comedy Series, which was awarded to Catherine O’Hara. Unfortunately, Catherine O’Hara passed away on Jan, 30th 2026, but the award was still well deserved, and the live audience really showed their appreciation when they honored her.
There were many other awards, like Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series, which was won by “The Last of Us.” Another award, like Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, was awarded to “Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning”. Even the Male/Female Actor in a Supporting Role was won by Sean Penn, who supported “One Battle After Another,” and Amy Madigan, who was in “Weapons.”
The SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards are historical, and a fun experience to watch, especially with all the movies and shows coming out with many recognizable actors and actresses.
