Disney’s new generation is up and coming. With lots of talent and personality, this new era of Disney kids is taking the world by storm. In acknowledgement of all the talent they have acquired, a tour was announced combining their two new movies. The tour combines the cast of two new additions to popular Disney series, “Zombies” and “Descendants,” which are known for their catchy songs and addictive dances. The action-packed show, featuring seven talented teens, creates fun and lasting memories for all who attend. The “Zombies/Decedents Worlds Collide” tour has become an enormous hit all over the world.
Released on Feb 16, 2018, “Zombies” became a fan favorite for its electric dances and catchy songs. The main theme of the movie is working together, camouflaged in the form of a zombie and a cheerleader. Viewers quickly fell in love with the dynamic between the two characters, Zed, played by Milo Manheim, and Addison, played by Meg Donnelly. The most recent movie was “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires” featuring Freya Skye, Malachi Barton and Mekonnen Knife. These three teens are part of the seven-member group performing as the main cast in the “Zombies/Decedents Worlds Collide” tour.
Since the release of “Descendants” on July 31, 2015, kids around the world have been hooked. Scoring a 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, “Descendants” quickly rose to fame. It took the storyline of the original Disney Princesses and their villains and gave them families. Over the years, “Descendants” has had a total of four movies made in the series. The latest was “Descendants: Rise of Red” featuring many new, young and talented teens like Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Dara Reneé and Joshua Colley. These four upcoming stars are also a part of the leading performers for the “Zombies/Decedents Worlds Collide” tour.
The “Zombies/Decedents Worlds Collide” tour, starting in San Diego on July 17, 2025, has started just one week after the release of “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.” This quick turnaround helped the tour grow on social media. The main cast of the tour consists of seven teens: Freya Skye, Malia Baker, Malachi Barton, Joshua Colley, Dara Reneé, Mekonnen Knife, and Kylie Cantrall. Fans chose their main character of the tour, and they didn’t pick just one. The audience saw sparks flying when young musical talent Freya Skye and long-time child actor Malachi Barton sang on stage together. The two played love interests in the newest “Zombies” movie. Many viewers have been debating whether the two are good friends or if something more is going on behind the scenes. But while fans have started to focus on shipping Skye and Barton, the rest of the talented cast should not be forgotten.
Dara Reneé has a prominent voice and presence on the stage that electrified the show, especially during her own original song “Imma Do It.” Kylie Cantrall, known for her pop songs and big dance moves, also shone bright on the stage, showing her growth into becoming a big pop star. Freya Skye, an up-and-coming vocal powerhouse, sings many songs, including a beautiful, heartfelt solo of “My Own Way” from “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires,” which has the crowd jumping to their feet to sing along. Malia Baker plays “If Only” on the guitar while singing the hit performed initially by Dove Cameron in an earlier “Descendants” film. Joshua Colley hit all his notes and fiery dance moves, showing fans how he landed on Broadway at a young age. Mekonnen Knife, or MK to most, has so many acrobatic tricks up his sleeve that he uses every night to fire things up.
It has been a long time since Disney has done something like this. The last tours include Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers concerts and some movies with a live orchestra, but this tour has fans of all ages lining up to get tickets. With such high energy and good vibes, the tour has gained traction everywhere. These seven teens bring a unique blend of talents to the show, each adding their own flair and making it a fun experience for everyone. Each performer has creative freedom to have some fun on the stage, which is what makes it different from other tours.
The young performers do a fantastic job of entertaining the crowd while still having their own fun on stage. Kylie Cantrall told On The Red Carpet that “There have been so many ‘chills’ moments where I’ll be watching Dara perform and Freya perform, and I’m just like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ like I am that little kid in the crowd.” Freya Skye added in the same interviews that “…There’s so much happening! Like, you could watch it five times and see something different every time.”
A special song was written to open the show called “Worlds Collide.” Mekonnen Knife [MK] announced his love for the new song, saying, “Banger! It’s a banger. It’s a great opening to the show.” Although some of the songs may seem corny, the personality and energy of the young performers make it feel like a concert.
The way Disney has structured the tour and allowed the performers to have some freedom is very different from the past boundaries they have set. This could be a part of why the tour is so successful. The fans love how the teens can act their age and form such a tight friend group. Fans also comment about how the teens express themselves in a humorous and fun way on social media. The presence of the group on social media has added to the hype around the tour. With cast members sharing a behind-the-scenes look and filming dances backstage, they have created a must-see, hype bubble of energy around the show.
Unfortunately, the show is coming to an end, and the teens will move on to new projects after their last show on Tuesday, Sep. 16, 2025, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. It is rumored that the “Zombies/Decedents Worlds Collide” tour gained so much attention and was so loved that it will pick up again next year in the UK. So this tour, which at first many thought would be a corny concert for little kids, has turned into a major must-attend event for all ages. The seven talented teens and the rest of the background performers create such a high-energy, good-vibe atmosphere that everyone wants to be a part of.
