“Moana 2” is a wholesome movie and a perfect selection when looking for something to watch with friends and family. The movie was released on Nov. 27, 2024, and sparked the attention of many fans who watched the first movie, “Moana,” fell in love with the film and were excited to watch the second movie. “Moana 2” features returning characters including, Moana, Maui, Gramma Tala, Hei Hei and Pua. Fans who loved the original characters will also love the new additions. Some new characters that were introduced include, Simea, Moni, Loto and many more. The addition of these new characters brings new adventures and experiences, which help expand the storyline.
The directors of “Moana 2” were David Derrik Jr, Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller. They worked hard and did great at selecting the cast. The two main characters Auli’i Cravalho who plays Moana and Dwayne Johnson who plays Maui were the best selections because of their hard work and dedication in making this film one to remember. One thing the directors could have added to improve this movie would be more scenes back on Moana’s home island her family and what they did while Moana was gone.
The animators did an amazing job making everything come to life. The attention to all the little details in the movie made it stand out. They showed us Moana’s Polynesian culture and the different aspects of their lives, from how they dress to how they work together and thrive as a community. Mark Mancina, Emily Bear and Opetaia Foa’i were the composers of “Moana 2.” They all did a beautiful job at creating beautiful songs for fans to enjoy and sing along to. A song that stood out was “Beyond,” because of its beautiful lyrics and the warm emotion fans feel when listening to it. The best scene was when Moana wanted to give up on her journey and go home because her ship was wrecked, but Maui helped build up her confidence again to keep fighting to finish her journey. The friendship Moana and Maui have is one children can look up to and learn from because they care for each other and they never let each other give up on what’s important.
Overall “Moana 2” was a great movie and should be a must-watch for anyone wanting to watch something everyone can enjoy. Though it is meant as a children’s movie, teens and young adults will also enjoy it because of its beautiful storyline.
