SZA’s newest single “Saturn” is a similar style to her previous songs, but it explores a new theme for the artist.

Highly accomplished singer and songwriter SZA released a new song, “Saturn,” on Feb. 22, 2024. The song showcased her unique writing style and amazing vocals, hitting various notes, high and low, throughout the song, as she is incredibly talented. “Saturn” has a fun theme that is different from any song she has released before, but keeps the same R&B, hip hop style that she usually has.

She has many songs about relationships, specifically the relationship issues she’s gone through, but this song is more about herself and her self-growth. The song is about moving past hard times and negative thoughts, as shown in the lyrics, “This must be what Hell is like,” and “There’s got to be more,” and her follow up of “Find something worth saving, it’s all for the taking.” She uses “Saturn” as a metaphor for a place and mindset that she dreams of reaching, explaining that she will “be better on Saturn, none of this matters, dreaming of Saturn.” The overwhelming message of the lyrics is to not dwell on the bad too much and to push through towards better times.

This message and the song have already become a big hit among listeners of all ages, since it is available to stream on any music streaming service. It has also become popular on TikTok, a social media platform great for promoting new music. Many users started making videos promoting self-growth with her song in the background, along with videos they felt confident in, as the song is motivational. TikTok introduced the song to many people, specifically teens, who then went on to add it to their playlists and listen to it more regularly than just hearing it when they’re scrolling.

“Saturn” is the latest hit in SZA’s string of successful songs leaving fans excited for the rest of the “Lana” album, whose exact release date is currently unknown but expected for some time in 2024.
