The FHS softball team is back and ready for another exciting season. With a mix of experienced players and fresh faces, they’re focused on building strong connections, improving their skills and making big steps for the state championship.
For sophomore Gracie Bobak, the best part of the season so far has been spending time with her teammates. “Being around people I love and who make me feel motivated to swing at the ball [is the best],” she said. Bobak’s working on improving her batting accuracy and growing closer with her teammates. She believes having the right mindset and staying energized before games are crucial to playing well and reaching their goals.
Junior Ashley Murphy has positively shown her role on the young team, with Murphy’s biggest highlight so far being a walk-off hit. “Just being able to have a part in trying to lead the team and teach them, especially because we are just so young,” Murphy explained, has been the most memorable part of the season. Murphy thinks the team has the potential to make it to states if they keep playing well and working together.
Sophomore Brooke Farmer feels like she’s grown a lot since her freshman year, especially when it comes to her mindset and focus. “I know what to focus on and what not to,” Farmer said. For Farmer, getting to know new teammates and building friendships has been one of the best parts of the season. Inspired by her parents’ constant support, Farmer is determined to make the most of her high school softball experience.
Farmer advises, “Sooner or later, you won’t be an athlete anymore, and you won’t have those long bus rides with your teammates anymore, so make the most out of it.”
With a positive attitude and teamwork, the FHS softball team is ready to face whatever challenges come their way.

Lily Do, Staff
Hello! my name is Lily Do and I’m a 15 year old sophomore at FHS. This is my first year working with The Falconer and I’m really excited to be a part of it! A fun fact about me is that I have three leopard geckos. I love to travel and I’ve been to amazing places this summer, like, treasure island in Florida, New Jersey, New York, Virginia Beach, Kitty Hawk, and even Canada by cruise! I play tennis, do tricks on ice skates, and I love biking while listening to music. I find it a great way to refresh my head.
