Mason Worst Prepares for 4A State Finals
After a great showing at the Region 4C swim meet, FHS’s lone swimmer left in the postseason, Mason Worst, looks to end his high school career on the podium at the 4A State swim meet hosted in Richmond, Virginia. In the 4C region swim meet, Mason placed second in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 100 fly. For the State Finals. Mason will be participating in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Mason credits his success this season to “putting on some mass and muscle.” For the State Championships, the top 16 swimmers will move on to the finals. Mason is seeded eleventh, giving him a great chance to do so. With this being the last meet of Mason’s high school career, he reflected on his time with FHS swim saying his favorite memory was, “going to states sophomore year with Mr. Kraut and the older kids.”
Mason also showed his appreciation for junior Graham Savage and the rest of his teammates by saying “We had a good group this year. Graham was always there bringing the fun and laughter messing around.” With prior experience for the state event as well as swimming at a high level outside of school, Mason looks to end his high school career on the podium.
