Upcoming Spring Sports
`
Many spring sports are beginning to host pre-season practices as tryouts are quickly approaching. Recently, several sports have begun to host conditioning sessions after school. Boys soccer, baseball, and softball are hosting conditionings through Monday and Friday.
Softball is practicing on the turf field every Friday at 3 p.m. until tryouts begin. Baseball is practicing on the turf field Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m., with an hour of weight room afterwards. Boy’s soccer practices Mondays and Wednesdays at 2:45 p.m. at the turf field as well. Make sure to talk to the coaches who run Spring sports to find out more information about these practices.
In the previous seasons, both baseball and softball performed fairly well, while boy’s soccer was not as fortunate. Boy’s soccer didn’t even win a game in the 2022 season, tying 11 and losing five. Baseball went 12 and 10, having just over a 50 percent win percentage. Softball on the other hand had a 75 percent win percentage, going 15 and 5. This was their best since the 2019 spring season. Baseball’s 55 percent win percentage was their best since 2018, where they went 17 and 6 for a 74 percent win percentage.
Tryouts for all spring sports are planned to be during the third week of February, between Feb. 20 and 24. Interested students can find each of these sports teams on Twitter at the following handles:
