Wanting to embark on a thrilling adventure filled with monsters? Try “Monster Hunter Wilds” the newest addition to the “Monster Hunter” series developed by CapCom. CapCom has been making games like “Resident Evil,” “Street Fighter” and “Monster Hunter” since 1979. Their newest game “Monster Hunter Wilds” is an action role-playing game where players are tested in their hunting skills and combat potential in the field in the places known as the Forbidden Lands. The players, referred to as hunters, customize their gear and weapons to overcome all the monsters that inhabit the Forbidden Lands.
The cost of the game is $70 for the game, which in 2025 is the average cost for newer games due to the cost of developing modern games. Nevertheless, the “Monster Hunter” community is still happy with the cost due to better performance, new gameplay and the last “Monster Hunter” game “Monster Hunter Worlds” being released back in 2018. Though the wait was long this new and more modern experience has brought new players and old veterans back to enjoy the new monsters to challenge.
CapCom did a good job on immersion and actually felt like a hunter by making sure each monster had unique behavior, strengths and weaknesses. The developers really knew what they were doing with the mechanics. For example, if you're fighting a really fast-fire chicken, hitting it with a really heavy attack on its legs would cripple it. Another example would be if you're fighting a giant toad, if you cut its large tongue off with a greatsword per se it would be unable to hit back and would just have to throw its body at you or run away.
The best part about “Monster Hunter Wilds” is not only using these monster parts to become stronger but having to adapt to each monster you hunt because if you're using a sword on a rocky sand worm then you're not going to be damaging it. The satisfaction of “Monster Hunter Wilds” is being rewarded for using your resources and finding the weakness of the threat. CapCom couldn’t have done a better job with “Monster Hunter Wilds” and the community can’t wait for the next one.
