Senior Billy Brooks, who captains the varsity boys lacrosse team, recently reached a monumental milestone by reaching his 200th point for his whole high school career during a game against James Monroe High School. He accumulated these points through goals and assists, which each equal one point. Brooks stated that his next goal is to get the school record, which he is just eighteen points shy of accomplishing. He has his eyes on making a playoff run this year and finishing the year by winning the rest of the season and going to states.
Brooks was very happy about his 200th point and that the team was there to celebrate with him. He is hopeful that the whole team can use this as momentum. Brooks stated that “I want to go to the regional championship. I won it my sophomore year and it was very cool.” Brooks plans to try out for the LSU club lacrosse team. Brooks’ main goal is to study psychology there.
There have been many memorable moments for Brooks during his time playing for FHS’ lacrosse team. It was a very special couple of years for Brooks, as he played with all his friends and kids that he grew up with. “It is just very special playing for the high school your whole town gathers around. It is just special to be able to represent Fauquier,” he said.
With only five games left for his senior year, Brooks hopes to make the best of it and soak in all of his accomplishments that have been made throughout his years here.
