Just as winter track and field is coming to an end, spring track and field is about to begin. Track and field is a sport that involves running, jumping, throwing and having fun with friends. Many students are looking forward to this upcoming season. “I am looking forward to us winning districts and regional titles, as well as being on the team again,” said junior Shane Easley.

Many students enjoy track and field. “My favorite part about track is at practice and at meets how close we are. On the way home from meets we listen to music and sometimes get food,” said junior Brooke Armistead. “My favorite thing is how we all bond together at practices,” junior Emmalea Czolba said.

Track and field has many events. It has events like sprints, distance, jumping and throwing. This gives athletes the ability to excel at whatever they do best. This sport is about trying to get better and beat one’s own personal records–to be on a team but to push to get better and to work harder. Each athlete gets to grow at his or her own event while still being on a team. Teammates work together to help each other grow and become better athletes and get better at the sport. Spring track and field starts on Feb. 20.
