Young talent Freya Skye released her first EP (extended play), “stardust,” on Feb. 4, 2026, and it dazzled fans with emotional lyrics, catchy melodies and impressive vocals. The release includes four new songs in addition to her single “silent treatment” which was released on Dec. 2, 2025. The five songs complement each other beautifully, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come in Skye’s musical career.
Skye herself is a sixteen-year-old British singer and actress. She first stepped into the spotlight at thirteen, after representing the UK in Junior Eurovision 2022. More recently, she starred in Disney’s “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires,” which premiered on July 10, 2025. Following the movie’s premiere, she was one of the headlining artists on “Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour.” This past summer, the young artist gained an impressive following, both for her adorable personality and outstanding voice.
Her new EP, “stardust,” features five excellent tracks that showcase her vocal talent and emotional range. The first song, “silent treatment,” has reached almost fifteen million since its December release. The lyrics describe what it feels like to be ghosted or ignored in a way that is extremely relatable for young listeners. The song is both beautiful and catchy, a combo destined for success.
However, the third song on the album is likely to be fans’ next favorite. The track is titled “golden boy,” and it is about someone who hides behind a public persona of being praised and put on a pedestal. Many listeners have begun to theorize who this song is about, with the majority tying it to Skye’s “Zombies” co-star, Malachi Barton. While Skye had yet to explain the origins of the song, lovers of the “Zombies” franchise have been quick to make assumptions. Whether they are true or not, the track itself is excellent and sure to please.
