Bring the past into the present with “Jurassic World Evolution 3” (JWE3). Players get to manage a theme park full of dinosaurs and guests while exploring opportunities to generate income.
JWE3 is based on the “Jurassic Park” franchise, a series of movies adapted initially from the science fiction novel, “Jurassic Park” by Michael Crichton. The film revolves around a theme park that uses dinosaurs brought back from the dead for its main attraction.
JWE3, released on Oct. 21, 2025, was developed by Frontier Developments and is the third iteration in the series of JWE games. In-game, the player builds and manages their own dinosaur-themed park, ensuring guests’ needs are met. The game has a fantastic way of monitoring guests’ happiness, telling the player what they need and how to improve the park, such as the coverage of shelters and amenities. The park will be rated on a five-star scale based on the guests’ happiness, the dinosaurs’ comfort, and overall safety.
The main way for players to attract guests is to introduce dinosaurs into their park. The game has a fun process of creating new dinosaurs. To make new dinosaurs, the player has to extract enough DNA from fossils collected from specific dig sites around the world to unlock dinosaurs. The player can alter the genetics of the dinosaurs they’ve unlocked, changing colors, adding traits, and modifying behavior. Once a dinosaur is released into an enclosure, the player must satisfy its needs; if not, the dinosaur will escape and terrorize the guests.
The campaign of JWE3 consists of the player building up parks around the world, from Nevada to Japan, rebuilding a failed theme park, and medicating sick dinosaurs in a conservation site. Each of the many sites has specific objectives for the player to achieve so the park can reach the maximum of five stars. After gaining enough of an amount of stars, collectively from all the sites, more sites will be unlocked for the player to complete. During the campaign, the player is delayed by “Extinction Now,” a fictional group that advocates for the re-extinction of the dinosaurs. The group tries to halt the player by sabotaging the park, protesting, and stealing dinosaur eggs.
What makes JWE3 different from the previous games is the quality-of-life features added, such as easier ways to change terrain and methods for maintaining parks. In addition to the gameplay improvements, one of the most anticipated features has been added, wanted by fans ever since the release of the first JWE game in 2018: baby dinosaurs. Fans are thrilled to have baby dinosaurs in their parks, with the majority of dinosaur species in the game able to include juveniles.
JWE3 adds a unique twist to the park management genre, with Frontier Developments making improvements based on feedback from previous games. The game is entertaining and a must-play for dinosaur lovers.
